that's also my experience. Now if only Real would continue to support the
G2 Producer on SGI O2 running IRIX, which has an *excellent* audio/video
subsystem, so that the platform the producer runs on and the capture card
comes close to the quality of the codecs it uses! It can't be too hard
since the video encoders 4 and 5 did run on an O2 successfully and even
for Linux there is a cmdline version of producer G2 which would suffice
(for me) if it only would be running on an O2.

It's a _big_ drawback to have to use this croppy PC platforms - no matter
whether under Windoze or Linux (sorry in advance to the Linux fans out
there) -, but the O2 video subsystem beats the Osprey/PC combinations
by milestones in quality and stability.

Real, please consider this as an urgent request for enhancement of your
Producer product!
