Thanks.  I think it's a missing-data issue.  If a packet of the GIF data is
lost, the GIF cannot display at all.  Same thing happens with non-JPEGtran'ed
JPGs, although they often do partly display.  If I use JPEGtran, the JPGs are
fine.  Too bad, since for this content, they are way bigger and look worse.

New question...is there a Solaris version of JPEGtran?
