What platform are you running on?  I have several Unix G2 and 5.0 servers that
have been running hard since April with no interruptions.

There's a couple of ways to do this.  You could write a shell script or perl
program that does a 'ps' and looks for the rmserver process ID.  If found, do
nothing; if not, fire off the rmserver process again and maybe do a sendmail
or an http connection to your pager vendor's page-via-web site to notify you.

Another way is to write a small java app that opens a socket to the realserver
every minute or so on port 7070 or 554.  If the socket fails to connect, the
program can sound the alarm.
