Subject: Better Solution for Bulk converting MP3 files to ra/rm

There is a better way that I have used for nearly a year. And it IS in the
Real Producer program
Method

Use Real Jukebox to rip the CD data into MP3 files @96k
Save the files into it's own directory
Use the command line function in Real Producer ( I use Producer +) as
follows
This must be run from the ms dos or command prompt
Rmbatch (and a string of instructions, paths, etc)

And go to lunch

The machine will (depending on the cpu) quickly automatically convert those
into .rm files, G2 works fine also!
I have done this with as many as 500 .mp3 songs overnight and woke up to 500
.rm G2 files

Those run under G2slta on the following
www.MusicAsia.com
www.musicjapan.net

Refer to the instructions for the Real Producer about using this great
function.

Subject: Solution found for Bulk converting MP3 files to ra/rm files for
g2slta streaming. Maybe others can use

After much experimentation, I have finally found a solution to the problem
of converting large numbers of MP3 files to ra/rm files that I can stream
using g2slta from the server.

First I rip the CDs with Xingtech's CDripper, into MP3 files.

Then, using Cool Edit Pro 1.2 batch process these files into rm files. Now
this version of CoolEdit Pro only does the pre-G2 files, and defaults to
.ra. Probably just as good, but you can change the output file type, so I
made it .rm.
The batch option can then step through the entire track list of MP3 files,
and produce rm files.

Unfortunatly, the batch process doesn't take the ID-Tag infomation with the
process, but this doesn't matter if the files are being played from within a
playlist.txt file for g2slta.

To put the tag info back in however, to specific files, load the file into
the old Windows based RMeditor and put the info back in.
The DOS based command line versions dont want to know about the file, but
the windows version seems ok worth them.

I believe Colledit Pro's latest version does G2, but I can't afford it yet,
its way too expensive.

I wish the real programmers would add a few features into their own
products... oh well, one day maybe
