Subject: timed samples of smil presentations

my apologies if this question is ridiculous, but here it goes regardless:

I have a smil presentation embedded in an html doc, referred to by an rpm
file. I would like to be able to give someone a URL that will allow them to
see only a three minute clip of the presentation. Is this possible, and if
it is, does anyone have an example of what that URL make look like? If it
is not possible, does anyone have any other ideas? I have thought about
just creating an additional html doc that has a META refresh to start the
presentation over, but that would be a last resort to the low-budget value
of that solution.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
