I do not think using Real for videoconferencing is a good idea. The
delay is awefull and there are no workarounds for this I know of. What
you can do however is capture the video of a videoconferencing client
(Netmeeting, Vcon, Zydacron, Picturetel etc. etc.) on a station
equiped with a videocard that has S-Video or Composite video output
capabilities (for instance Diamond Viper550/ Diamond Viper770). You
can do this for the audio aswell. Then you can feed this audio and
videosignal into a captureboard and soundcard on a system running
RealProducer+ and stream the conference. WhitePine CUCME client and
Meetingpoint MCU seem to be able to send RealMedia encoded streams. We
haven't tested that yet. I also know of Polycom's Streamstation can do
the similar. I will advise you not to use Real as a videoconferencing
unit, delays are awefull and when using a RealG2 multicast server we
measured delays in the order of 1 to 1,5 minutes.
