While I'm afraid I cannot offer you any help with this, I CAN add that I've
experienced a similar problem (not in SMIL) using the DoNextEntry() &
DoPrevEntry() javascript methods for selecting specific clips from an .rpm
"playlist". Something that worked fine with G2, but is flaky and
inconsistent with RP7.

The short description of the problem is this:
Clicking a numbered button calls a Javascript fctn which loops through
DoNextEntry() a number of times equal to the number on the button, thereby
advancing through the .rpm "playlist" to the desired clip.
This worked fine in G2.
In RP7, it often will play the first clip no matter what the selection was.
However, sometimes it will play the correct clip, and sometimes any one of
the clips along the way!

My hunch has been that the increased start-up speed of the RP7 causes the
player to begin playback before the looping completes.
Don't know if that helped you any, but I'll be sure to post if I figure
something out.

Subject: id's in RP6 and RP7

I've been working on a smil presentation which involved a number of jumping
between different parts of a .smil file by using <href="#clip 1">.

It worked fine with realplayer 6, but since i've tried out realplayer 7,
clicking on the link results in the first clip playing again.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what may be going on? Is it a
bug? Or have realnetworks decided to remove the ability to start playing a
smil file from anywhere other than the beginning?

BTW: In trying to solve my problem I stumbled upon some commands which don't
seem to be listed in the production guide, or realnetworks public website.

command:nextclip()
command:previousclip()
command:adscookies(?)

nextclip, and previousclip allow the user to advance back and forward a
clip, and work similar to the stop(), play() and pause() commands.

I dont have any idea what adscookies(?whatever goes inside here?) does.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
