Try www.paradon.com . Canadian company with good cdn prices. If you're
from the US you'll be pleased about the exchange rate.

Subject: Looking for best encoder value

Hi all,

Can someone recommend a cheap but decent CPU to use as an encoder? I'm =
looking to get a comfortable recommended minimum for real-time encoding, =
i.e. 300MHz or so, without spending big dollars on the latest box.

It is only for occasional use in the office, not in the field and it'll =
mostly be doing talking head shots. I don't care whether it's new or =
used. don't need a monitor or capture card, already have an Osprey

Does anyone think I could find something to meet these specs for, say =
$500? Where's the best place to look?

TIA,

d.
