S-video is just video. The four pins carry the Y and the C components of =
the signal. I suspect if you were to find a Y cable to split the signal =
it would degrade the signal.. Markertek (www.markerted.com) sells a 1x4 =
svideo da that might solve your problem. You still need an audio card to =
capture the audio.

Subject: Question about Osprey 100 video capture board

Does the svideo input on the Osprey 100 video capture board NOT capture
audio inputas well? I was under the impression that all svideo inputs and
outputs carry an audio signal, though it seems as though this may be
incorrect. Anyone here know?

Another somewhat related question:

Does anyone here know if there's such a thing as an svideo Y splitter? I
have a dilemma where I have to figure out a way to configure my rack of
video equipment with a 4x1 switcher, and it seems that the only way I can
send my svideo output on the patchbay to the input of my video capture =
board
AND my video monitor simultaneously is by getting some kind of Y splitter.
Anyone here know if such a thing exists? If so, can I expect some kind of
degradation in the signal quality?

thanks,
