From: "Yvan Gagnon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: quality of realvideo when encoding video from Mini DV camera We've been using a a Sony DCR PC-1 Mini DV camera to capture footage, and I'm finding that the quality I get when I encode to realvideo format hasn't been all that great. I would imagine that the nature of Mini DV would use a somewhat lossy form of compression similar to -- if not exactly like -- MPEG, and if this is correct, then that would perhaps explain the resulting cruddy looking realvideo. Is anyone else here using this camera for capturing footage to be encoded to realvideo? If so, is there a setting of any kind that we can tweak that would get us better quality footage, .. like by setting a lower compression ratio or something? Or did we just plain purchase the wrong camera for this sort of thing? thanks, -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] ******************************************************* The RealForum is an email discussion group focused on using RealNetworks products.
