A good camera is the Cannon XL-1.. it has its little quirks but gives lots
of bang for the buck. I came from broadcast TV and I think it looks almost
like Beta lots of the time! It has great lenses.

For a cheaper option, the sony trv900 does a nice job.

Would anyone know of a camera that could be used for hi-resolution video
production via FIREWIRE or USB for a Macintosh G4 system?

Or, would anyone know of a better way to go about encoding several
simultanious video feeds for live stream?

We've figured that we want 5 Osprey 1000 / g2 cards for each encoding
machine. We would like to use a Macintosh G4 if possible, but an IBM
compat. would also be acceptible.

Any suggestions?
