Subject: ActiveX Repaint or Refresh
I'm trying to build a RealPlayer image window into an
microsoft Access (97) form using the ActiveX controls.
I was pleased to see (on the support site at
http://service.real.com/help/library/guides/extend/embed.htm)
that much of the functionality of the RealPlayer software is
available as ActiveX methods, but nevertheless I encountered
a problem.
When I keep the Real ActiveX box (eg RealMovBox) visible, there
is no problem, but when I make RealMovBox invisible (using
standard methods, RealMovBox.visible = 0) and visible again, the
Real imagebox shows nothing but the backgroundcolor. (This happened
whether the video was playing or not.
I thought this problem would be solved with a RealMovBox.repaint
or .refresh, but these methods aren't supported. I also tried a
complete form repaint, but to no avail.
My question is: how can I work around this problem (and maintain
a temporary invisibility of the embedded RealPlayer imagewindow),
or how can I activate an internal Real repaint/refresh/redraw
method?
Kind regards,
Martijn Polder
