Subject: an interesting discovery...

I the interest of fellow newbie web broadcasters such as myself, .. I
thought I'd take a minute to share an interesting discovery I made just this
afternoon while experimenting. I have recently learned that when creating
SMIL presentations, .. a Shoutcast HTTP stream can be specified as an audio
src.  For example, ..

      <seq>
        <audio src="http://www.atzilut.com/intro.rm" />
        <audio src="http://216.32.166.82:9056" />
      </seq>

I tested this and it works, (with RealPlayer 7, anyway) What's nice about
this is that a lot of headaches are eliminated when trying to send a live
stream to a realaudio server that's on the other side of a firewall. With
Shoutcast technology, it's a one way connection to the server (not a
handshaking situation like with RealServer) and what's more, .. shoutcast's
servers, licenses, and bandwidth are free to registered users :)

Anyways, I just thought I'd share that with you guys. [ Could anyone here
please let me know whether or not this works with previous releases of
RealPlayer?  (ie: RealPlayer G2 / 6.0 ) ??? ]

Cheers,
