Subject: How much delay in live broadcasts?
Guys,
With the new RealServer 7.0 and RealProducer 7.0 products, with the
RealServer based on a decent machine (say a Sun Ultra 10) and the
RealProducer encoding on a decent workstation (say a P5 or P6 running NT
4.0 SP4 with 128MB of RAM), what would be a typical delay between the
live video capture and it being encoded "live" and broadcasted over the
mbone via the RealServer?
With the previous RealServer & RealProducer "G2" products, I believe I
had been told it would be about a 20-30 second delay. Is this the case
with the new 7.0 version?
