I could find no command in the doco that seemed to do this. I have a menu built in a SMIL file that contains links to other SMIL files. When it opens, the playlist is visible. When a link is selected, the playlist vanishes and the user has to manually make it visible again. (This is happening with local SMIL files - have not tested it for files streamed over the Internet.)
