One of the first paragraphs of chapter 8 of the RealSystem G2 Producer
Guide has this to say:

To provide Web page playback, RealPlayer includes a plug-in for browsers
that support the Netscape plug-in architecture:

       Netscape Navigator 3.0, 4.0, and higher.

       Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0.

It also has an ActiveX control that provides playback capabilities
within these products:

       Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0.

       Any application that supports ActiveX controls, such as Visual
Basic, Visual C++,
       Microsoft Access, and so on.

cheers!
