From: Tony Buser <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: command line encoder/activex encoder in version 7? Is there a command line encoder in version 7? Bascially we have an old VB app that uses the RealEncoder version 5.1. What it does is it records a .wav and then when they're finished, it shells out to the command line encoder and turns it into a .ra file and then uploads the file to the server. What we're trying to do now is turn it into a web app with an activex control in a webpage. We basically did it the same way and the activex control is only like 50k which is great, however in order for it to work they have to download the 1meg+ RealEncoder first. Also the RealEncoder 5.1 seems to be a little buggy. (some machines when we install it and run it, it just crashes for no apparent reason) So we started looking into the new version 7. Well, there's an encoder activex control which is great, however it won't run unless they also have the RealProducer 7.0 installed which is like 4meg+. Which means an even larger download then useing the command line version 5.1. So basically what I'm asking is, is there just a plain command line encoder in version 7? And/or is it possible to write a vb app/activex control that can encode a wav to ra without having to also install the whole large RealProducer? Thanks.
