Hi all,
It's been our experience that frame actions, in almost any flavor, can cause
unpredictable results in the SMIL playback. Or they will be predictable
(such as stop stopping the whole presentation) but undesirable. So our
workaround has been to keep all animation in the main timeline, making sure
that there are plenty of frames, and limiting the duration of the .swf
appearance in the SMIL.
hope that helps.

Does anyone know of a way to stop a flash animation file from pausing a SMIL
stream. It appears Real Player picks up the Stop command in Flash and
pauses the
stream. Taking the Stop command out loops the flash though, which is no
good for
the purpose of the SMIL presentation.

Any suggestions would be welcomed as the Real Guide seems to be very vague
when
it comes to including flash in SMIL presentations.
