I tried installing the 1.41 driver on my NT workstation a while back, and everytime I tried to capture with it (using vidcap) my system would lock up. When I reverted back to using the 1.31 drivers, everything was fine. - [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of RealForum Sent: Thursday, March 23, 2000 6:35 PM Subject: Osprey 100 drivers and NT video stream freeze or failure (was: From: "Hal Doran" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Osprey 100 drivers and NT video stream freeze or failure (was: RE: Best Audio/Video Card ) We have just had a situation in which we could not get a new machine to do video streaming using Osprey 100 v. 1.41 drivers (the latest) under NT 4.0. Has anyone else found similar problems with this configuration? Our previous machine had no problems doing live video streaming under NT 4.0 but was using the Osprey 100 v. 1.31 drivers. Thanks to Jason's message, we switched to Win98, installed the Osprey 100 v. 1.41 _Win98_ software and everything worked just fine. BTW, live video streaming was the _only_ problem under NT 4.0 and Osprey 100 v.1.41. We could stream live audio, we could capture and encode video and audio to disk using Real Producer 6.1. It was just the live streaming that would freeze up or go into a "black hole". Before trying the Win98 solution, under NT 4.0 we had checked and double-checked every option and preference setting in Real Producer and the Osprey software. We had removed and re- installed both the Osprey v.1.41 NT drivers and the RP6.1 software. We also had thoroughly investigated all relevant network issues (firewalls, port restrictions, etc.). FYI, the computer was running NT 4.0/Win98 dual boot on a box with dual PIII 650, 512Meg of Ram and 2 UW SCSI 18 Gig HD, with a Cisco router to dual ISDN net connection. Our previous machine, the one that worked fine doing video/audio streaming live using Osprey 100 v.1.31 and RealProducer 6.1 under NT 4.0 was a NT 4.0/Win98 dual boot box with dual PII 350, 256Meg of Ram and 1 UW SCSI 9 Gig HD, with an Ascend Pipeline router to dual ISDN net connection. ******************************************************* The RealForum is an email discussion group focused on using RealNetworks products.
