Subject: Converting MP3's on the fly and streaming them

I am looking to take existing media files on our server (mp2's, mp3's, =
etc) and convert them on request to real audio files and then stream =
them to the user requesting them.

Can anyone tell me:
1) How long does the conversion take before it can begin streaming a 1 =
MB mp3 at a below broadcast quality sampling rate?

2) What kind of load does this place on the server?

3) Is there an object model exposed by RealServer or RealProducer that =
can be controlled from Visual Basic?

Thanks in advance,
Craig Cook
