This may not help but I'll throw it in anyway. I have had similar problems
getting relative local links to work on the Mac - the Mac player does not
seem to like them. Absolute links sometimes work - depending upon the
browser. Try using:

u 28.00 38.55 &&pages&&file:///CDVolumeName/PathOnCD/cindy2.htm

where CDVolumeName is the name of the CDROM as it appears on the Mac
desktop. The reason this may not help, even if it does work on the Mac, is
that it won't work on Windows. Do you have room on the CDROM for separate
Windows and Mac rm files? If so, you can use javascript in the HTML pages
that link to the rm file to detect the OS and then point the link to the
appropriate rm file. Alternatively, use SMIL instead of events to
synchronise the video and slides.

I am having a problem with synchronized multimedia
when viewed on a Macintosh..

We have a real video file that is synchronized to pictures, all inside an
HTML document. This will be distributed in a CD-ROM, so all the links and
files are always local.

We created an events file with entries like this one
u 28.00 38.55 &&pages&&cindy2.htm

Then we merged it with the Real Video file.

This works perfectly on windows. The correct pages load in the right frame
at the right time. But it will not work on a Macintosh. The browser will
complain it can't find the server cindy2.htm

We tried these entries:
u 28.00 38.55 &&pages&&file:cindy2.htm
u 28.00 38.55 &&pages&&file:///cindy2.htm
u 28.00 38.55 &&pages&&file://cindy2.htm
u 28.00 38.55 &&pages&&file:\\\cindy2.htm
u 28.00 38.55 &&pages&&file:\\cindy2.htm

None of them work in any of our Macs. Remember, the files are stored in a
CD-ROM, everything is local.

Any ideas?

David
