Subject: Adjustable Crawlrate?
Hi,
I'm experimenting with SMIL, and attempting to use the tickertape to =
scroll "closed captioned" text (really a transcript with a fewing timing =
markups) across the bottom of the realplayer, while the media file plays =
above it.
However, each speaker has a variable speach speed, and tends to talk for =
about 1 minute to 10 minutes - with a few short Q&A sections where the =
question might take 10 seconds to ask, and the response might be 1 to 5 =
minutes in length.
I can pretty easily compute what the crawlrate should be for each =
section -
crawlrate =3D avg_char_width * num_chars / duration_in_sec
However, there doesn't appear to be a way to change/adjust the crawlrate =
as a presentation plays...
