Are there any additional features with this new driver? In other words, if
my current version is working fine, would there be any
benefit to my upgrading?

thanks,

Subject: Problems with Osprey 100 NT 4.0 drivers ver 1.41 and Real Producer

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a problem concerning the ver. 1.41
NT 4.0 drivers for the Osprey 100 video capture card and live
streaming in Real Producer 61. Capture to disk worked fine, but live
video streaming did not.

Some other people in this Forum confirmed they also had had
similar problems.

We had initially been told by Viewcast support (Viewcast makes
the Osprey card) that there "were no known issues" and that it
must be "a configuration problem".

So, we took the matter up with the Canadian distributor of the
Osprey card, who did get a more helpful response from Viewcast.

Last Friday afternoon, Viewcast posted a new version of the NT 4.0
drivers for the Osprey 100. See:

ftp://ftp.viewcast.com/pub/OSP-100/winnt/beta1.50

This version, 1.50, works just fine for live video streaming with Real
Producer 6.1. using the Osprey 100 under NT 4.0.

Before, no streaming. Now, with that one change, streaming. Gee,
could it have been an "unknown" issue with the drivers? {;-)

Anyway, the problem is fixed and my faith in Viewcast product
support restored.
