Subject: RealPix broadcast application coding

I am developing a live presentation in SMIL that features a speaker and 15 =
slides.

I'm using LivePix to synchronise slide changes with the speaker and have =
successfully run this on our LAN using the demonstration RealPix Broadcast =
application and an ASP script that copies image files to the directory =
monitored by the application. =

However, there is a bit of a delay with the slide changes and I am looking =
into modifying the RealPix Broadcast Application to improve this. On =
startup it would stream all the pics (from directory passed as a parameter)=
to RealServer and would then be controlled by TCP to change the slides.

Having read through the code/docs in the SDK I have the following =
questions:

1) One reason for the delay is that the demonstration application only =
begins to send the image data to RealServer once an image has been changed.=
Documentation of IRMALivePix suggests that it would be possible to use =
SendImage() to send all of the images in the presentation to RealServer =
ahead of time, then use SendEffect() to control image changes with the =
handles returned by IRMALiveRealPixResponse's ImageSent(). Are there any =
possible drawbacks to this strategy?

2) It would help to know how RealServer interacts with RealPlayer during a =
live image stream. Will it start streaming all of the images to RealPlayer =
(at specified bit rate) as soon as it connects to the image stream or =
does it send the image data only when SendEffect() is called by broadcast =
application? =

3) Are any further versions of the RealPix broadcast application available?=

Thanks a lot for any help given.

Daniel
