Yes, I made it! With your help (thanks a lot Albert!) I managed to get a pre-compiled version of OpenSim+modrex running on Ubuntu. I now can login also from remote machines.
If you are interested, I could upload a zip of everything? The only problem I still have is that the server crashes after I want to attach an uploaded .mesh to my avatars hand e.g. - that is, the import works, until i really want to _see_ the imported model... Is there a known configuration (for ZeroMesher eg) that works, for the mesh objects that come with the rexViewer? Or do I have to turn on something else in the OpenSim.ini file?
