Perhaps this great guide from Jani can help to you:

I have implemented the realXtend server version with no assets as a stand
alone sim. This contains a large expanse of completely flat terrain (with a
few large rocks and a view tool embedded in a rock). I have then implemented
the same version on server and made the necessary config changes to use an
MS SQL database.

I can access my new (server based) sim with no problems except the terrain
that is showing is a small dome (semi-circle) of land in the middle of the
ocean.

My question is twofold:-

1) can i easily reinstate the large flat terrain that was evident in my
stand alone version.
2) if i can't do this automatically how do you create a large expanse of
completely flat land like the server with out assets version as initially
installed in my standalone version ( the tools for editing terrain take for
ever to raise land from the seabed and it seems impossible to get it
completely flat).

Apologies if i am missing something completely obvious.

thanks in advance,
