Stick with the local server 0.4 for right now, or switch to OpenSim vanilla.
ModRex is still under heavy development at the moment, and it's still in
very early ALPHA stages. Keyword is ALPHA.
That means it's not ready for "Beta Testing" or mainstream use yet. It's
still in early developmental stages, and although the developers are working
VERY FAST and VERY HARD, it's still not ready for beta testing yet.
So just stick with the local server 0.4 for now. Give the developers a bit
more time. They currently have their hands full with Rex-NG (new viewer)
and they have a lot on their plate right now.
I would try back around late summer, early fall, and we should be closer to
having something a bit more stable that you can tinker with. Hopefully the
Rex-NG Alpha will be finished around the same time as well. Right now,
ModRex just isn't ready yet for Beta testing yet. If you're a developer
with a very strong stomach, then contact me "off-list" and I can help you
get started if you really want to try and Alpha Test, but I suggest that you
just give the developers more time, and wait till maybe the end of summer or
early fall.
If you want to tinker right now, then stick with the local 0.4 Rex server,
or give OpenSim vanilla a try. If you have any other questions, you can
contact me off-list, and I'll try to help you get started.
