Believe I just figured it out. I have had the Beneath The Waves distro running, had tried to delete all the in-world artifacts but was unsuccessful. Then had installed the Empty distro and started seeing this problem. Anyway, it looks like the viewer had cached the previous world and artifacts? which then caused me problems with the Empty distro.
Bottom line, when uninstalling the viewer, be sure all files are deleted including the hidden directory on MS Vista: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\realXtend Cheers!
