I hope you guys are joking about this .. because rationally , SL has no
real reason to buy Realxtend .. The ogre engine is already open source
and sl surely knows this . SL is a monolythic grid and with Realxtend at
this point in time , it is difficult to scale up regions and form a stable
multiregional grid .

SL is more than likely watching Realxtend because they want to counter this
with there own new rendering engine that supports mesh and therefore attempt
to make this type of project less attractive to potential adopters .

In my opinion there is an urgent need to help and support realxtend/taiga
to get proper and stable multiregional and grid support . At that point in
time we are better off , because some bigger grids that are watching this
technology develop are then able to potentially adopt it as a solution .

Until the point in time comes that Taiga can properly scale up and handle a
decent sized grid , all we can do is support these guys the best we can
and not worry too much about the Lindens , because they can probably make
it hard for us to get Realxtend grids going and that is a frustrating
thought for anybody that seriously wants to deploy this technology

Linden labs is for sure right on the heels of Realxtend , so we definately
need to hope , pray and support these guys in any way that we can so that
they can get the server side code out there to make these grids possible ,
before the inevitable happens and makes realxtend less unique than it is
currently
