You may already have noticed the news reports all over the web, but in case you missed it Intel and Nokia started research co-operation at the University of Oulu. The realXtend project was started in Oulu and although it's grown into an international co-operation (my heartfelt thanks especially to everyone on these mailing lists), most of the development effort is still centered in Northern Finland.
We had the chance to demo realXtend at the event and it has been interesting to follow the publicity. There has been some confusion on many realXtend-related issues in the media, though, and if any of you have questions about this week's event or realXtend in general, you can of course post your questions here and I will answer to the best of my ability (which may admittedly not amount to much). Here's a short blog post on the subject: http://realxtend.blogspot.com/2010/08/nokia-intel-establish-first-joint.html You may also have noticed the changes we did to the website, it should now be slightly less confusing for newcomers to get he latest Naali viewer (which is what most newcomers would probably want to download, advanced users will sitll find the server and legacy viewer software in the downloads section). We are also gearing towards new Naali and Taiga releases in the next couple of days, so the near future looks quite exciting (especially for Mac users). -- http://groups.google.com/group/realxtend http://www.realxtend.org
