To achieve that currently, I'd do something like this...

>> a: [1 2 3]
== [1 2 3]
>> b: c: :A
== [1 2 3]
>> probe a
[1 2 3]
== [1 2 3]
>> probe b
[1 2 3]
== [1 2 3]
>> insert a "something"
== [1 2 3]
>> probe a
["something" 1 2 3]
== ["something" 1 2 3]
>> probe b
["something" 1 2 3]
== ["something" 1 2 3]

Is this not enough?
