hehe, now I am interested. We wanted our CCD camera to utilise parallel port first, but then we found out the junk related to parallel port support thru various versions of Windows, then we switched to ethernet design. I wonder if you want to support all the ECP, EPP etc. modes thru all the platforms? :-) Because just anyway - parallel port is dead :-) Wouldn't e.g. direct Rebol print support thru some kind of native port abstraction (or I don't know how to get it working thru all platforms) make rebollers happier? :-) PS: you mentioned work under contract. Could we know approximate level of funds RT would need to program such kind of "private request"? Maybe community could pay some few bucks to get certain features implemented? Cyphre? :-)) Now seriously - maybe some companies who bought /Command would like to pay some money to get e.g. direct PostGress, MSSQL, or in Command docs mentioned missing SSL features, not to mention XML family support ... and btw: Rebol Core 2.6 will introduce some changes (mold/all), which will make mobile code even more possible.
