I certainly agree that "something" needs to be fixed, and I think we wouldThanks for the Sterling efforts ( sad pun here! ).
all prefer the "/lines" buffer to be more robust in the face of less than
courteous tcp programs. I think the robustness of the patch is a reasonable
trade-off until a proper repair is made. Just trying to be helpful. :-)
In my WIP folder, I hacked Jeff's changes to the pop scheme to allocate the correct amount of memory for the buffer rather than guessing at 1024 bytes.
Would you try that, and apply your patch as well, to see if it speeds it up a little more?
