It works for me, though I note there's no /save refinement with my
request-file, so you must be using a later version (than I'm using on
this box, which is View 1.2.1.)  I used the following values to test
it...

== 2
>> filenames: [%a %b %c]
== [%a %b %c]
>> filenames/:i
== %b

and see that "none" is put in the requester if i is trying to
reference outside the block.  If filenames/:i returns a file-name for
you, then maybe your request-file is bugged.  I'd test it on a new
console first before reporting it as a bug though, just to be sure
it's not been corrupted by whatever else you've been running.
