Okay, I don't have the sdk yet, does create-link create .lnk files (these file extensions are always hidden unless you do some registry fiddling)? You can check by opening it in a text editor (have to do this by drag and drop), if it's in the structure I sent you before it's a .url file, if it's something like the following:
