Well, if you would like to apply some effect, transitions using rebol only - the bitmap handling is so slow, that you would wait >10 sec for one image being processed. As you may need 24 images per second, well :-)
I think there might be way for you, using some library interface. But I don't know what libraries are available. I would suggest you using some conventional tools available.
