Scrumptious Chocolate Layer Bars

2 cups (12 oz. package) Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 8 oz. package cream cheese
2/3 cup (5 oz. can) evaporated milk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup sesame seeds (optional)
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Crust/topping:

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Heat oven to 375 F. Grease a 13x9 inch pan. In medium saucepan,
combine chips, cream cheese and evaporated milk; cook over low heat,
stirring constantly until chips are melted and mixture is blended.
Remove from heat and stir in walnuts, sesame seeds (if desired) and
almond extract. Blend well; set aside.
Stir together crust/topping ingredients; blend well until mixture
resembles coarse crumbs. Press half of crumb mixture into pan; spread
with chocolate mixture. Sprinkle remaining crumbs over filling. Bake
35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on wire rack.
Cut into bars. Makes about 36 bars.
