This is a wonderful meal side dish. Once it is made and cooled it is then cut
into slices and fried or heated soft or eaten cold.

Goetta

1 lb  Ground Beef
2 lb  Ground Pork
6 Cups Water
3 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Pepper, ground course
2 1/2 cups Pinhead Oats
2 Large Onions, chopped
4 to 8 Bay Leaves

Put water, salt and pepper into a pot and bring to a gentle boil. Add oats and
cook for 1 1/2 hours, covered. Stir every 15 minutes. Add meats, onion and bay
leaves. Mix well. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. If too wet remove cover and
allow to thicken. Pour into containers and cool.
