HALLOWEEN HERMITS 1 1/2 cups butter 4 cups flour 2 cups sugar 3 eggs 1 tsp. each cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg 1 cup currants or dates, chopped 1 cup raisins, chopped 1 cup any kind of nuts, chopped 1 teaspoon baking soda 3 tablespoons bourbon, rum (or milk for the kiddies!)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together butter and sugar, until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add dry ingredients and baking soda. Stir in nuts, raisins and chopped currants or dates. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto silicone or parchment-lined baking sheets.
