Charlie Louvin Plans New Duets Album

of Fame as one-half of
the Louvin Brothers, will release a new album of duets with his admirers on Feb. 20. Guests include George Jones, Tom T. Hall, Bobby Bare, Marty Stuart, Tift Merritt, Elvis Costello, Jeff Tweedy, Will Oldham, David Kilgour and members of Bright Eyes, Lambchop and Superchunk. The album was recorded with producer Mark Nevers and will be released on the New York City-based Tompkins Square label. Louvin, 79, plans to tour to promote the album. among the artists
releasing new albums on Tuesday (Nov. 14). Nickel Creek's Reasons Why (The Very Best Of) includes selections from their three albums on Sugar Hill, plus two live tracks and a bonus DVD of their music videos. Osborne's Pretty Little Stranger (Vanguard) features guest vocals from Alison Krauss and Vince Gill and was produced by Steve Buckingham. Griffith's Torch Songs (Rounder) offers cover songs by Willie Nelson, Tom Waits and Jimmy Webb, as well as two of her own songs. Wal-Mart, Bass Pro Shops Hook Fishing Album

stores and Bass Pro Shops nationwide beginning Tuesday (Nov. 14). All Gone Fishin' (Bandit Records) includes performances from George Jones, Little Jimmy Dickens, Brad Paisley, Merle Haggard, Lorrie Morgan, Porter Wagoner, Bobby Bare, Jerry Reed, Bryan White, Rachel Proctor, Tanya Tucker, Mel Tillis, Patty Loveless, Steve Wariner and Arlo Guthrie.
