Sweet Potato Pie Recipe Source: Crisco® Makes two deep dish 9-inch pies Other necessary recipes: Classic Crisco Flaky Pie Crust RECIPE INGREDIENTS For the Crust: Classic Crisco Flaky Pie Crust For the Filling: 2 large sweet potatoes 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 2 teaspoons ground ginger 1 1/4 cups half-and- half 4 large eggs, beaten Sweetened whipping cream, optional RECIPE METHOD Prepare Crisco Classic Single Pie Crust. Bake as directed; set aside. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Bake sweet potatoes for 1 hour; remove from oven. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F. When cool enough to handle, peel sweet potatoes and cut into chunks; purée with the butter in a blender or food processor. Add brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and half-and-half; purée. Add eggs; pulse until well combined. Pour combined mixture into baked Crisco Pie Crust; bake 50 to 60 minutes. Cover crust with foil if necessary to prevent burning. Let cool.
