Hi everyone, here is a update:
my father was one of the coach drivers, he drove the herse in which President
Ford was in, and there was a total of 6 coaches, all that looked the same,
and all this was for extra protection, in case there was to be a sabitosh or
something, he changed cars 3 times, after meeting with secret services before
every change, making sure that his vest was good, and things like that.
they main concern was that since last night the execution of Sadam husaim was
to happen, and the funeral of President Ford, all in the same evening,
well,secret
services were not going to let anything get in the way, so it was very intense
for a while, but all this was behind the scenes, but he did come out on
T.V. for a short period, only to make sure that the family was seated in
place, and to recieve further instructions...his speech was not televised
and the one thing that he did do, which was not televised was to hold a
special devotion with the family before the actual ceremony started, and this
was
the request of Mrs. President Betty Ford, she wanted a private moment for a
prayer and small devotion and not have the world share that moment with her,
which my father gladly accepted with honor....He then went on to give her a
hug with words of comfort and he gave her the notes of the devotion that he
wrote for President Ford, she accepted it, and placed it in her bible, and
hugged him in return, with a thankful heart(he said
he said that she was taken back on how "beautiful" his words were.
and so ladies, I'm not sure if he is back home yet, when I spoke to my mom,
she said that he was to stay over night with the secret services people, for
protection, and that they would released him later today, 12-30-06; but all
went fine, and he is ok, so thank you for the prayers.
