 Subject: [RecipesAndMore] CROCK POT LASAGNA

 CROCK POT LASAGNA

 1 lb. ground beef
 ½ pound smoked sausage
 1 onion, chopped
 ½ tsp. garlic powder
 2-15 oz. cans tomato sauce
 1-8 oz. can tomato sauce
 1-12 oz. can tomato paste
 1-24 oz. carton cottage cheese
 c. ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
 c. 16 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
 12 oz. lasagna noodles
 2 tsp. salt
 1 ½ tsp. dried oregano
 1 ½ tsp. dried parsley
 1 T. Pizza & Pasta Magic Seasoning
 Pinch sugar

Brown ground beef, onion and smoked sausage in skillet. Drain. Add
tomato sauce, tomato paste, and all spices and sugar. Cook long enough
to warm throughout. Boil lasagna noodles for approx. 3-4 minutes (to
just soften them up). Drain. Spoon a layer of meat sauce onto the
bottom of the crockpot. Add a double layer of lasagna noodles (cut to
fit if necessary). Top with cheeses (cottage, Parmesan and
mozzarella). Repeat with sauce, noodles and cheeses until all are used up.

Cover and cook on low for approximately 6 hours. Makes about 8-10
 servings.

*NOTE: I use lean ground beef, light smoked sausage and lowfat cottage
and other cheeses and it is very good and not as greasy! Also, I've
experimented and tweaked this recipe several times and you may want to
 do the same.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE LR
