SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE

 

Ingrediants:

1 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED

2 CUPS OF SUGAR

6 EGGS

1/4 TEASPOON BAKING SODA

2 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT

1 CUP (8 OUNCES) SOUR CREAM

3 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR

CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR, OPTIONAL

 

Directions:

IN A MIXING BOWL, CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR.

ADD EGGS, ONE AT A TIME, BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION.

MIX BAKING SODA AND VANILLA WITH SOUR CREAM; ADD ALTERNATELY WITH FLOUR TO THE 
CREAM MIXTURE.

MIX WELL.

 POUR INTO A GREASED AND FLOURED 10 IN. TUBE PAN.

BAKE AT 325 FOR 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES OR UNTIL CAKE TESTS DONE. 

COOL IN PAN 15 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING TO A WIRE RACK.

IF DESIRED, DUST WITH CONFECTIONERS' SUGAR BEFORE SERVING.
