Barbecued Western Beans
Ingrediants: ½ pound ground beef ½ pound bacon, chopped, cooked, and drained 1. 16 ounce can pork and beans, undrained 1 15 ounce can dark red kidney beans, drained 1 15.5 ounce can butter beans, drained 1/3 cup white granulated sugar 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar 1/4 cup catsup 1/4 cup barbeque sauce 1 tablespoon prepared mustard ½ teaspoon chili powder salt to taste Black pepper to taste Directions: In a skillet over medium heat brown ground beef until no longer pink. Drain meat and transfer to the crock pot. Fry bacon in a skillet over medium heat, drain and transfer to the crock pot. Stir in all other ingredients. Cover and cook on low 2 ½ to 4 hours or until heated through. This recipe can be doubled if desired. Notes-I use ground chuck or round and a lot more chili powder most of the time! Also, I love using pinto beans instead of kidney beans. But you can use black beans as well. I also like to put slices of jalepenos topped with shredded cheese Enjoy --You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love. -Sylvia --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Access the Recipes And More list archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/recipesandmore%40googlegroups.com/ Visit the group home page at: http://groups.google.com/group/RecipesAndMore -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
