She is indeed a wonderful person and veterinarian! She has taken in numerous
animals, and not only that, but she is single, and has adopted six interracial
children. I can recall when she first got them some were like 2 and 3 years
old, and she had videos and toys and took them to work with her. I gave her
some toys and stuff, too. All of them now must be in preschool and up, since
you only see some of the kids late in the afternoon when the school bus or
friend drops them off at the vet clinic, and she has pizza waiting for them, it
smells so good. she is indeed a saint walking here on earth; I can not praise
her enough!

awww, sandy, that's a happy end.
I'm so glad for people like her that take time to care for pets.

That is so true, Kay and Steve! I have another pet story for you: these
animals give all their love, give you their unconditional love, would, if they
could, lay down their life for you, and we treat them so shabbily!

Many folks in my neighborhood dump the stray dogs out and leave or abandon
them. I heard awhile ago on the news where someone was actually so cruel as to
throw, and I mean, literally, throw a dog out of a moving truck while driving
along the road.

The story I wanted to share is as follows: Before I got Molli, my nextdoor
neighbor, Laura, who is also a vet tech where I go to the vet with my doggies,
well, this one day, she came out and asked me if I had lost a chihuahua, and I
said, well, I lost my three dogs, all within one year, and they were past 13
years old! Is that what you mean? she said, no, just now, there was an old
chihuahua right by your back gate, and when I said, how old, she said, really
old. I said no; she took the dog to her house and kept it for about a week, and
then brought it up to the vet I use, where she works. I wanted to adopt it, but
the vet said she is not adoptable; she is really old, although, of course,
noone really knows the exact age; she had heart problems, was stone deaf, due
to neglect from frequent severe ear infections, and was so very arthritic, and
could hardly walk, very bad knees. The dog was not potty trained, went
everywhere and at random and very frequently, so I knew I could not take her
and deal with all that and it would mess up my dogs with their training, plus,
the medicine cost would I thought, be astronomical. Suddenly, the doctor, Dr.
Worland, decided to keep her. she is a full blooded chihuahua named by the vet,
Yaya!

She got her medicine for her heart, and arthritis, and now Yaya is able
almost to run, and although she will never hear, no more ear infections, and
the poor little thing's ears are all gnarled, like a head of cauliflower due to
all the infections in past years due to neglect. She has gained weight, and
now, is overweight, and is on dry food to lose some weight, and each day, the
vet goes to this wonderful vietnamese restaurant and gets this soup with
brisket thinly chopped, noodles and broth, and shares it with Yaya; Yaya has
become more potty trained, and comes to work with the vet daily, and even
sleeps with her. at least now, she is shown love, and we all feel she has a
better life than she ever has had, and at least whatever time she has left
here, Dr. Worland can show her love and compassion and joy. she is doing so
well.

How's that for an animal story!

ooooouchy steve, a touch to the heart poem that one.
I hate it when people do that. buy a pet and don't sacrifice the time to
care for it.
i always go by the motto, a pet's for life, not just for christmas.

        ALONE AGAIN
I wish someone would tell me
What it is that I've done wrong,
Why I have to stay chained up and Left alone so long.
They seemed so glad to have me When I came here as a pup,
There were so many things we'd do While I was growing up.
They couldn't wait to train me as a Companion and friend,
And told me how they'd never fear Being left alone again.
The children said they'd feed me And brush me every day,
They'd play with me and walk me If I could only stay.
But now the family "hasn't time"
They often say I shed, They do not want me in the house
        Not even to be fed.
The children never walk me They always say "not now!"
I wish that I could please them
        Won't someone tell me how?
All I had, you see, was love
I wish they would explain, Why they said they wanted me,
Then left me on a chain.
