Keith Anderson, Dierks Bentley Join ACM Ride

Keith Anderson, Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich's Big Kenny, Josh Gracin, Heartland 
and Craig Morgan are among the artists who will participate in the Academy
of Country Music's (ACM) fourth annual motorcycle ride on May 13 in Las Vegas. 
Montgomery Gentry will host the event, which benefits the ACM Charitable
Fund. Other participating artists include Carolina Rain, Emerson Drive, Steve 
Holy, Buddy Jewell, Little Texas, Heidi Newfield, Ray Scott, Trent Tomlinson,
Trick Pony, the Warren Brothers and Trent Willmon.

Reba McEntire Will Sing South Pacific at Hollywood Bowl

Reba McEntire will reunite with Tony-winning actor Brian Stokes Mitchell for 
three performances of South Pacific at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this
summer. McEntire and Mitchell had previously filmed a reading of the Rodgers 
and Hammerstein musical for a PBS special. A CD version was released by Decca
Broadway. South Pacific will be staged Aug. 3, 4 and 5. Tickets are available 
at the Hollywood Bowl Web site. Additional performers will be announced at
a later date.

John Prine, Mac Wiseman Team for Duets CD

Singer-songwriter John Prine and bluegrass pioneer Mac Wiseman will release an 
album of duets on April 24 on Prine's label, Oh Boy Records. Standard Songs
for Average People includes a mix of well-known and less familiar songs chosen 
by both men. Selections include Lefty Frizzell's "Saginaw, Michigan," Tom
T. Hall's "(Old Dogs-Children And) Watermelon Wine" and Kris Kristofferson's 
"Just the Other Side of Nowhere." In addition, Prine's 1980 PBS concert, Live
on Soundstage, will be reissued by Shout! Factory on March 27.

Jason Aldean's Debut CD Certified Platinum

Jason Aldean's self-titled album has been certified platinum for shipments of 1 
million copies. The album includes the singles "Hicktown," "Why" and "Amarillo
Sky." He is the first platinum-selling artist for the independent label, Broken 
Bow Records. He will release his second album, Relentless, on May 29. He's
currently touring with Rascal Flatts and will also open shows for Dierks 
Bentley later this year.

Little Big Town's Kimberly Roads Is Pregnant

Kimberly Roads, the blonde member of Little Big Town, is pregnant, according to 
the band's Web site. Roads and her husband, real estate executive Stephen
Schlapman, were married on a private island in the Caribbean last November. 
Their baby is expected in late summer or early fall. Two other members of the
band, Jimi Westbrook and Karen Fairchild, were also married in 2006. In a 
message on the quartet's Web site, Roads says, "I'm just over the moon about
it. We're all very excited about having a Little Big Town baby. ... Everything 
so far is just going perfectly."

Blake Shelton Will Host Hometown Raindance

Blake Shelton will host the second annual Raindance charity event in his 
hometown of Ada, Okla., on April 22-24. Shelton will also perform at the event,
as will Steve Holy, Neal McCoy and Craig Morgan. Other activities include an 
archery tournament and roping competition. Last year the event raised more
than $133,000 for the state's drought and wildfire victims. Shelton will 
release a new album, Pure B.S., on May 1.

Mel and Pam Tillis Exhibit Opens at Hall of Fame

A new exhibit spotlighting Mel Tillis and Pam Tillis is now open at the Country 
Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Items include original stage
costumes designed by Manuel Cuevas for both performers, costume pieces from 
Mel's movie career, a costume from Pam's Broadway production of Smokey Joe's
Café and a Gibson EC-20 Starburst guitar that Pam played at her Grand Ole Opry 
induction. The exhibit is on display through June. Pam Tillis will release
a new album, Rhinestoned, on April 17 on her own label, Stellar Cat Records.

Phil Vassar Switches Record Labels

Phil Vassar has signed to Universal South Records after his previous label, 
Arista Nashville, agreed to release him from his contract. Vassar released
Greatest Hits for Arista in 2006, which included the No. 1 hit, "Last Day of My 
Life." Vassar said, "I think that as artists change and grow musically,
it's important to shake things up on the business side, too. And a career mile 
marker like the Hits disc just makes the timing feel right to make a fresh
start." A new album is expected later this year.

Gary Allan Releases Greatest Hits

Gary Allan released his first Greatest Hits album on Tuesday (March 6) on MCA 
Nashville. The collection spans from his first single, 1997's "Your Man,"
through two new tracks, "A Feelin' Like That" and "As the Crow Flies." Other 
new album releases include Mary Chapin Carpenter's The Calling (Rounder),
the Greencards' Viridian (Dualtone) and Sunny Sweeney's Heartbreaker's Hall of 
Fame (Big Machine). New DVD releases include Jerry Lee Lewis' all-star concert,
Last Man Standing.

Recording Academy Will Salute Loretta Lynn, Rascal Flatts

Loretta Lynn, Rascal Flatts, the Fisk Jubilee Singers and Jars of Clay have 
been named the recipients of the Nashville chapter's Recording Academy Honors.
They will all be honored at a gala event at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in 
Nashville on April 9. Proceeds will benefit the Academy's educational and 
philanthropic
programs and the MusiCares Foundation. The event will also feature celebrity 
presenters and performers, a cocktail hour and a silent auction. Tickets are
$350 for the general public.
