Have you ever wondered what the "sell by" date on a package of meat means?
It means it should be purchased on that date or before, then used or frozen within 2 days of that date. If you are going to freeze the meat in the original package, you should use it in 2 weeks. After that, rewrap it tightly in freezer or heavy foil.
