Presenters Announced for CMT Music Awards

Jason Aldean and Stone Cold Steve Austin are among the presenters at the 2007 
CMT Music Awards which will air live from Nashville on April 16. Barbara
Mandrell, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes, Taylor Swift and Josh Turner will also 
serve as presenters. As previously announced, performers on the show include
Dierks Bentley, Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, 
Sugarland, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban (from Australia). In addition, 
Pickler
will host the 2007 CMT Music Awards Video of the Year Special on CMT on April 9.

Wynonna Judd Files for Divorce After Husband's Arrest

Wynonna Judd has filed for divorce against her husband, D.R. Roach, citing 
irreconcilable differences after he was arrested Thursday (March 22) in Abilene,
Texas, and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a 
minor. Specific details of the allegations have not been disclosed by the singer
or law enforcement authorities, but he was arrested as a fugitive from justice 
in Tennessee. Bail has been set at $750,000, and Roach was still being held
Tuesday (March 27) in the Taylor County jail in Abilene. Roach had been seeking 
treatment for drug and alcohol addiction at the Shades of Hope Treatment
Center in Buffalo Gap, Texas, since Feb. 21. He had been Wynonna's bodyguard 
for 10 years prior to their marriage in 2003. The divorce complaint was filed
Tuesday in Franklin, Tenn. "I am obviously devastated," Wynonna said in a 
statement posted on her official Web site. "Our family will pull together, begin
the healing process and hopefully -- by the grace of God -- become stronger. We 
will move forward with our faith, family and our friends to find resolution
to this difficult situation."

Chesney's Celebrity Friends Show Up for Birthday Bash

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Gretchen Wilson and Jewel were among Kenny Chesney's 
celebrity friends who showed up Monday night (March 26) at a Nashville bar
to help him celebrate his 39th birthday. Backed by his band, Chesney performed 
a lengthy set that included his hits and an array of cover songs, including
U2's "With or Without You," the Rolling Stones' "Honky Tonk Women" and Lynyrd 
Skynyrd's "Gimme Three Steps" and "Sweet Home Alabama." Several of his friends
joined him onstage, including Wilson, Montgomery Gentry and Sara Evans. Also 
attending the event at the Tin Roof were Kix Brooks, Big & Rich, Tracy Lawrence,
songwriter Craig Wiseman and video director Shaun Silva. Several hundred people 
waited at the club once the free show was announced earlier Monday to Chesney's
fan club members. Chesney has frequently performed the impromptu club shows in 
other cities during his Keg in the Closet tour. His Flip Flop Summer Tour
with Sugarland and Pat Green kicks off April 12 in Omaha, Neb.

"Skip a Rope" Singer Henson Cargill Dies

Henson Cargill, who reached No. 1 on the country charts in 1968 with "Skip a 
Rope," died Saturday (March 24) in Oklahoma following complications from 
surgery.
He was 66. Released on Monument Records, "Skip a Rope" spent five weeks at the 
top of Billboard's country chart and was nominated for CMA song of the year.
It was written by Jack Moran and Glenn Tubb. Cargill also reached the country 
Top 10 a year later with "None of My Business" and later recorded for Mega,
Atlantic and Copper Mountain. In the 1980s, Cargill operated a country music 
bar in Oklahoma City called Henson's. Funeral services will be held Thursday
in Oklahoma City.

Tim McGraw Releases New CD

Tim McGraw released his new album, Let It Go, on Curb Records on Tuesday (March 
27). His upcoming TV appearances include The Tonight Show With Jay Leno
(April 3), The Ellen DeGeneres Show (April 5) and Jimmy Kimmel Live (April 5). 
... Other new releases include Alabama's Songs of Inspiration II (RCA),
David Ball's Heartaches By the Number (Seanachie), Jack Ingram's This Is Is 
(Big Machine) and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver's There's More Behind the Picture
Than the Wall (Rounder).
