Ham, Mac and Cheese Soup

1-1/2 cup (4 oz.) uncooked dried small macaroni shells
2 TB butter
2 TB all purpose flour
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
1 can (14 oz.) chicken broth
1-1/2 cups half and half cream or milk
1/2 lb. Deli American cheese, cut into 1 cubes
1 cup ham OR hot dogs, finely diced
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Cook pasta according to package directions. Set aside.

Melt butter in 3 quart sauce pan until sizzling; stir in flour and mustard.

cream.

Cook over medium high heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a
boil, 4 to 5 minutes.

Reduce heat to low; stir in cheese until melted. Stir in macaroni and ham.
Cook until heated through,
4 to 5 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.

Serves:  6 (1 cup) servings.
